Bartek Koss is a self-taught artist who grew up in Warsaw, Poland. He remembers bright colors as rare splashes against the gray concrete landscape of the time and place in the 1970's and 80's. In his early years he spend a lot of time with his grandparents who were creators and collectors of art. As a young teen he took art classes at the Warsaw Cultural Palace where he explored his creativity through visual art. Just shy of 16 years old, he took a chance and immigrated to the US. Through his college years he attended workshops in painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography in the US and Europe. He spent the next 20 years in his family restaurant and traveled the world to explore art and culture. His passion for visual beauty and form grew through his culinary work and travels. Inspired by the birth of his daughter, he picked up his paintbrush and hasn't put it down. Bartek has very few preconceptions or limitations to his creative approach and finds freedom in painting and creating what moves through him. His paintings are in private collections in the USA and Europe.
